This position’s responsibilities are to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of town owned roadways, roadsides, and any other town owned building or property.  

This position is exposed to all extremes of weather conditions, frequent lifting of heavy weights, dangerous road and traffic conditions and to loud machinery.  

 

Must possess a valid CDL "B" or "A" license.  Prior experience in similar work environment.

This position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of town owned vehicles and equipment for safety and maximum performance.  Repairs engines of town owned vehicles and equipment.  Snow removal in the absence of employees and in addition to staff when conditions warrant.  Must have knowledge of diesel engines, gasoline powered engines, and small engine repair.  Working knowledge of diagnostic machines desired. 

Must possess a valid CDL "B" or "A" license.  Automotive mechanical classes preferred.  Prior experience of at least 3 years in a similar work environment.

Town of Thomaston has an immediate need to fill its part time Transfer Station Operator.  Required to operate transfer station in accordance with town and state regulations.  Hours will vary month to month.  Basic computer skills required.
